I worked at UMKC part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to work intimately with faculty

    Develop communication and teaching skills

Workload was not too demanding—all prep work completed in short order.

    Cons

The pay was not very satisfactory.

I wish I had more creative freedom in my position, but it was very rigid.

    Advice to Management

I recognize that students are the ones who are supplemental instructors, but the pay is quite low for all of the work that is required. I'd suggest paying your student employees slightly better, especially if they're working as "specialized" students in their field.
