I have been working at UNC Charlotte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are good, pensions, sick time and leave time

    Cons

Paying for parking is a lot of money every year, but then you have to walk about a half a mile to get to where ever your location is. Also, you have to clock in and out of the system. I've never seen that before except when I work at Pizza Hut as a kid in a kid like job.

I worked at UNC Charlotte full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Growing university. Lots of student interaction if you like teaching.

    Cons

This university does not know if it wants to be a teaching institution or a research institution. What that means for faculty is you are expected to do it all - heavy research, heavy teaching, and heavy service with insufficient time to do any of it well.

    Advice to Management

Excellent management of external relationships but the institution is poorly managed from within. Need a new provost. Need to decide a direction. There is no consistent vision of what the university should be.
