    I have been working at UNM Hospitals full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    My coworkers are some of the most amazing and hard working nurses around. We get really good training. There is room for advancement if you want it.

    Cons

    I do not feel adequately protected from infectious diseases. It is a teaching hospital so in July question everything the new doctors put in. Sometimes they fire people for dumb reasons. They don’t really have a float pool so if someone calls in sick it’s the end of the world. Supply issues are sometimes a problem. We run out of random things. It is a hospital so changes take a long time if they happen at all. A startup might fix an obvious problem within the week, here it might take months or years.
