    I worked at UPMC full-time

    Pros

Show up on time, follow the rules, answer email like a robot, and don't question anything. Do these things, and you'll coast for years without having to make a real contribution.

    Cons

No chance of making an individual impact. Zero autonomy. In Talent Acquisition there are 100 of the same exact person - female, no recruiting experience, average education, pretty face, boring personality...ugh.

    Advice to Management

Don't leave. You'll never make your salary anywhere else!

I have been working at UPMC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers, a ton of great research being done, interesting job every day

    Cons

NO benefits for being loyal to the company. It seems that they would rather waste money re-training instead of giving a bonus. I also feel very under-valued, as the pay in my department is not spread evenly or based on importance of job, extra degrees, etc.

    Advice to Management

Start valuing your employees!!!! I understand that research doesn't bring in much money, but with the overturn as high as it is, there needs to be some type of incentive to stay within the department. We waste too much time and money on training new staff.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at UPMC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits offered are decent, the PTO package is rather generous, and the flexible hours/work from home options are nice.

    Cons

The compensation leaves a lot to be desired, it's a difficult place to get promoted, the workload is unnecessarily heavy due to their unwillingness to hire new employees, and employee retention seems bad due to these circumstances.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what the employees are saying. We deal with these issues on a day to day basis, and we understand the problems and have ideas about how to reasonably address them.

    Pros

Decent pay, good benefits and nice people to work with.

    Cons

Pay is decent but could be better, everyone and every company always has room for improvement but overall upmc is a good company to work for.

    Advice to Management

So far my management has been beyond awesome so I have no issues whatsoever!

I have been working at UPMC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are a large employer. Their are frequent openings in different facilities if you desire a transfer because of employees constantly leaving.

    Cons

UPMC doesn't give a damn about you. Despite what the propaganda might suggest.

Current Employee - Contact Center Specialist I in Pittsburgh, PA

    Pros

Benefits and perks, hours, work from home eventually

    Cons

Disorganized and so much miscommunication in the department, competing with the dept to get days off, doing 3 jobs at once and not getting recognized for it, very critical about work, PTO time and how to accumulate it is ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Work on communication with your employees because we are told so many different things. Also work on letting your employees get a day off once and a while
