Warmer uniforms and a little more pay for seasonal and part time workers. We work very hard for the company.

I worked at UPS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Simple duties, “easy money” if you don’t mind physical exercise. Good way to stay in shape. Pay isn’t bad. It was a quick hiring process, and they seem to take any help they can get.

    Cons

Long hours, Can become redundant, exposure to the elements. At my center in Nampa, ID they didn’t start deliveries until 10am or later on most days, causing shifts to stretch well into the 6’o clock hour, would’ve been nice if trucks were loaded and deliveries started an hour earlier. On top of that it seemed almost every day after we made all of our deliveries, we had to go and help other drivers out which was frustrating because after about 7 I was ready for home but often found myself getting home between 8:30-10pm.

    Advice to Management

Be up front about the possibilities of having to help other drivers after your truck is empty. Be more transparent about when seasonal jobs end (by 12/31 does not give a good timeline as I was finished by 12/26 and had to call and ask if I was scheduled to work when I felt that they should be the ones calling to let me know .
