I have been working at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Getting healthcare and a few days off is nice, as is the hourly pay scale for management as a PT employee

    Cons

Is not easy work. Many responsibilities and often a dangerous work environment due to nature of work but the pay compensates well

    Pros

The Benefits are excellent, and the employees are awesome, not to mention the 401k is the best around that you can get and the pay is a lot better than other places.

    Cons

Appearance guidelines are way outdated, (no visible tattoo's, have to be clean shaven, etc). Movement within company is somewhat limited (wait till someone passes away, gets fired or retires)

I worked at UPS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get paid every week. Regular pay raises.

    Cons

Politics, politics, politics. People doing things that are out right ILLEGAL by law such as drugs and supervisors having sex with subordinates (married on both sides) in exchange for promotions. They say they have a no tolerance sexual harassment policy. This is total nonsense. I could go on but it would take me too long.

    Advice to Management

Management has no integrity. They protect the people doing things that no other employer would put up with.

    Advice to Management

    Make brakes longer

I worked at UPS (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent work environment. Not a boring job

I worked at UPS as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its easy to get into their call center. Hiring around there peak season is a for sure hire.

    Cons

If you're good, they'll keep you on for a long time after the contract; but they cant hire you on. They will say "Oh well start bringing people on to permanent soon. Next month, next month , next month", then nothing once peak season ends. It just kind of sucks because they make it seem really promising, but then once they don't need you anymore they let everyone go.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with the temps, so that we have a back up job ready by the end of the assignment.

I have been working at UPS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A privilege to work for a world renowned company such as UPS. Resources available to help you become a productive member are at your finger tips.

    Cons

Seems to be "who" you know instead of "what" you know in the promotion process.

    Advice to Management

UPS does a lot of volunteer and charity work for the community, it would be nice to do the same for its employees. Work/Life Balance is key! Build more a better rapport with your team through better communication.
