I worked at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, Overtime, Steady work, Stable Company.

    Cons

Management implies safety above all, yet actions/orders say otherwise. No real training and motivation. Just threats and trial-by-fire training.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Treat them as team members, not mules.

I worked at UPS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Benefits are the only Pro!

    Cons

Very non-personal. Only known as a number, most dont even know your name. When you call out sick, you have to call a different department and give them your "Number"!
It's all about the bottom line. If you are not on a call all the time, you are degraded in your Stats.

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, good PACKAGE HANDLER coworkers.

    Cons

Hostile environment. Supervisor's will threaten your employment in front of everyone. Delivery drivers are extremely disrectful to the package handlers, EVEN THO THEY STARTED AT THE BOTTOM WIH US...

    Advice to Management

Be respectful to your coworkers. People make mistakes.

I have been working at UPS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are no pro's at the helpdesk except for if management at the helpdesk or management above the helpdesk keeps turning a blind eye about either the management or supervisions lack of or inability to run the helpdesk fairly for all the helpdesk will become unionized.

    Cons

If your technical never work at the helpdesk, we have gone from applying for a technical job fixing technical issues to a menial job doing alot of non technical task were doing technical stuff is like a side part of our job. we reset more passwords then fix anything. Now they are asking us to provide technical support for external customers which after just one day we see it is already a nightmare.
Unlike every other technical call center they will continue to ask you to do more and not compensate you. When you get to move from crit to ICS you will get to do even more, be held to a much higher standard. Everything you do will be looked at with a critical eye and guess what they still won't fairly compensate you.

    Advice to Management

Why try to give management advise, they don't listen. are not smart enough to get that a technical call center shouldn't be run like a customer service call center and certainly shouldn't pay new guys so well to start that after just 2 years they are making more then the guys that have been here for more then 7 years. Management won't even fix the pay disparity, so why try to give them advise.

    Pros

    Good benefits
Great job if you want to lose weight and gain muscle before the summer.
    Drink a lot of water

    Cons

    Unorganized during peak season
Managers can care less about you being injured. You don't get your benefits until after a year which doesn't make sense.

I worked at UPS as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pretty good hours, decent pay, good training program,

    Cons

Strict policy on start and return times from lunch, breaks, etc. The "after call hold" or ACH requirements are outrageous at times.

    Advice to Management

Find out reasons for illness before you fire someone. I have had "Gulf War Syndrome" symptoms since I was there.

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Getting healthcare and a few days off is nice, as is the hourly pay scale for management as a PT employee

    Cons

Is not easy work. Many responsibilities and often a dangerous work environment due to nature of work but the pay compensates well
