I worked at UPS as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Free range to help on a lot of different projects. Some great people who were very helpful and wanted to see me succeed. Great benefits.

    Cons

Overall poor communication between bosses and other managers. My boss once referred me to another manager that had no idea about the situation. Also constant change within the Industrial Engineering department created an instable work environment.

I worked at UPS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

UPS is a great company to work for in that you ever have to worry about their commitment to surviving and thriving. Benefits are good, upward mobility is possible.

    Cons

Typical old (110 years) company problems - messy back office systems, technology is a patchwork, management is mostly people that have worked for the company for 20, 25, 30 years, so there are few risk takers. Myopic and at times archaic thinking.

    Advice to Management

Move out some of your dinosaurs, they are killing your sales organization.
