    Pros

Ups prides itself in delivering fast and accurate service to customers.

    Cons

They don't really care about your safety they prefer to see there numbers really high.

I worked at UPS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great job to keep youself in shape. If you like meeting people and working outdoors in all types of weather you'll enjoy it.

    Cons

Fast paced and if you're not mentally or physically fit for the task your job performance will suffer greatly. Short work week low hours low wages, not a job to rely on as primary income.

    Advice to Management

Encourage delivery driver helpers to stay with the company and apply for other positions after their tenure is over.

    Pros

Hours, Experience, Opportunities, Benefits, Vacation Time, Friendly People, Fast Paced Environment, Great Management, Advancement, Always Something To Learn

    Cons

I can not honestly think of any cons about working for this company. UPS is a great employer. My favorite job I've ever had.

    Advice to Management

The management is great. I do not have any advice at all. They treat their employees with respect and make a fun work environment.

I have been working at UPS (Less than a year)

    Pros

Health Insurance, pays back some college costs, raises

    Cons

Terrible management, hours you work may get robbed from you, too much injustice, asks too much of your time to give you a real full time job to raise a family

    Advice to Management

If you don't have a career or a skill then stay here. If you practice a skill or a career I urge you to persue that before you hang dead at ups. Be ready for poverty.

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great benefits and one heck of a learning experience if you've never been involved in anything business related before in your life.

    Cons

It's a stressful job but then again what job out there isn't. You might feel sometimes like you wanna quit just because of one or two bad days but it's so important that you don't. Go home, let your frustration out, and come back the next morning ready to seize the day.

    Advice to Management

Some part-time supervisors and full-timers might freak when they see their manager or even division manager down on the floor walking around but I think it's nice when they do. Especially when they come just to ask how you're doing or when they go to the hourly employees and ask them the same thing and genuinely care about what we have to say. I think it further helps to build a culture of trust and eliminate the feeling of upper-management not giving two cents about you. So my advice is come down every now and then to the floor and say hi to the folks. It can go a long way.

I worked at UPS as a contractor

    Pros

General loyalty, room to move around/advance, cross training, Union employee if hourly

    Cons

Don't handle safety/harassment concerns regarding employees. Any concerns are considered a liability and will cause management to find an excuse to terminate. Training is elementary and does not prepare employees for success. Low pay rates for hard labor

    Advice to Management

Recognize and encourage those employees who are loyal and willing to go a step above and beyond

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits, health, dental, vision, 401k, pension, and much more like paid attorneys for personal financial needs, and much more like discounts at many other companies. All the benefits are 100% paid by the company.

    Cons

Working at ups seems like you're part of two companies, Ups, and the teamsters union. The supervisors represent the company and the employees represent the union. That's the type of environment throughout the company.

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company, competitive wages, big on helping the community. Benefits if hired on permanent part time.

    Cons

Competitive wages are only good if it was full time. Cliquish management toward lower employees in some depts.

    Advice to Management

The old world mentality of Full Time is better than Part Time mentality has to go. It creates a hostile work environment, and treatment of employees by hostile managers is being overlooked.
