I worked at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great for college students
-Many things to learn as a Sup.
-Pay is decent for a college students
    -Benefits are okay
-Stepping stone to a better company (Looks good on resume)

    Cons

    -Constantly Overworked
    -Low morale
    -Dealing with Union employees!!!

    Advice to Management

Give full benefits to your Part-time supervisors and a bonus at the end of the year would increase the retention rate. It's hard wanting to stay with this company after a couple of peak seasons with the low amount of pay they give and the workload.

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Only corporate location jobs have pros to their positions.
    Insurance is good.

    Cons

Majority jobs are part-time and do not pay basic bills but during peak season, you are expected to do any and all warehouse jobs as requested. It's like the military. Company touts promotions from within but nepotism is alive and well, most positions in warehouses aren't posted and it's a dead-end job for most employees. Senior management are all afraid of being moved to remote locations so they manage by belittling and being rude for fear of not producing acceptable numbers on ridiculous reports.

    Advice to Management

Stop relying on what you did 20-years ago (student hires, etc.), get your head out of the sand. Upgrade delivery trucks (all automatic), provide basic PPE for warehouse employees, stop moving senior management around when they should be fired for being incompetent, sexist, and blatantly racist.

    Pros

Good insurance, decent pay, they help pay for school. They offer good amounts of paid time off. They may provide food or apparel every once in a blue moon.

Fast paced, no chance of moving up even with education. They like to keep you were you do well. They treat you like you're their pet.

    Advice to Management

If they don't like you for any reason at all you will not change their mind. They will ride you as hard as possible and pretend you'll move up but it isn't true.
