    I worked at UPS part-time

    Pros

This is a fairly independent position where you are picked up near where you live and help deliver packages, which is great for people who want a physical job where you can pick up some real hours during the holiday season. If you ask for more work, you will get it.

    Cons

Depending on your driver, the truck can get extremely disorganized.

I have been working at UPS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great, not too many companies out there offer the packages offered. Flexible when needed, don't really have to pry for time off because of all the hours we put in when here

    Cons

Work life balance, there is none. If you have a family, they will be well taken care of, but it's tough to make family time.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people on the front lines, they are your greatest intelligence asset

I worked at UPS part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fast pace, good workout, excellent benefits after a certain time, tuition reimbursement, good people and sometimes fun.

    Cons

Little pay, long list to become full time or driver. It gets hot and sometimes dangerous. Management will ride you if you are a good worker.

I have been working at UPS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good support from the Union, inclusive work environment, regular pay increases. Many people like their jobs. Essentially, they pay YOU to exercise!

    Cons

Beginning pay is low, during summer there is not always work every day for the new people. Supervisors change frequently and generally are too young to know what they are actually doing.

    Advice to Management

Prepare your Supervisors better for their positions. Yes, some employees take advantage of the Union, but most do not.

I have been working at UPS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

High pay and benefits, vacation time is great for part-time workers and they will usually work around your schedule if you're going to school.

    Cons

High pressure environment. Expectations are often unreasonable. You are often held accountable for variables that are out of your control.

    Advice to Management

Keep goals and objectives obtainable. Understand if they are actually obtainable before you pressure lower management to kill ourselves trying to obtain it.
