I worked at URS Corporation as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation was very good, recognition given constantly, timely increases.

    Cons

HR wasn't always expedient, job security, performance reviews were shaky at best but this is because it was done by the client, more oversight was needed to be fair.

    Advice to Management

get more involved with employee development to make contract more sucessful

    Pros

Large company is like a large ship in a storm (recession) Numerous opportunities for those weillign to adapt if needed. Good management, lots of things going on. Good compensation.

    Cons

Same...large company moves slow to do things. Need upper management approval for minor purchases. (If that's the worst thing that's pretty good actually.)

    Advice to Management

Continue the good job respecting your staff and providing opportunity.
