I have been working at URS Corporation full-time

    Pros

Flexible work schedule but that is really about it

    Cons

Poor management oversight, lack of VP support who run bids, lack of accountability overall...no decent raises...
Also, the people where I work are NOT friendly whatsoever, that includes contracts director, business managers, subcontracts people. They all act very cliquish, very juvenile...no team work but lots of pointing fingers if something is wrong....
Also, took another day of holidays so we are down to only 8 and reduced PTO....guess I should stop there.

    Advice to Management

Listen to those who can make improvements. Spread the raises to the high performers rather than to the non performing VPs....and there are numerous.
When you are challenged, don't cave but step up and do the right thing regardless of who is whining.

I worked at URS Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked with several very bright and nice personnel.

    Cons

Many individuals who were out for themselves and always scheming to undermine someone. Several Managers were of no use. They would make promises and never follow through. URS is an amalgamation of several companies that were purchased which creates a great deal of problems since their is no uniformity/cohesiveness.

    Advice to Management

GET NEW BLOOD! Need managers and senior managers that aren't tied to the old ways of doing business and can see how to grow the business within the URS structure.

I worked at URS Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management allowed us to learn new aspects of the job and the company's methods, for personal growth. Good time off and benefits. Management tries to move people from contract to contract to benefit the employees.

    Cons

Some newer, modern methods were not always implemented from the beginning.

    Advice to Management

    Management is good.

    Pros

Good people; ok pay; 80% paid health Insurance; keeps you informed about whats going on in the company

    Cons

Managers seem to not ensure enough guidance and training is provided. You learn as
you go from everyone. Salaries are below average for industry standard.

    Advice to Management

Make sure new employees and interns are provided mentoring and/or adequate training. Try not to puff chests out too much. Employees don't like you trying to flex your muscles
