    Pros

Good culture, lots of activities - golf Wednesdays etc. The people that work there are great. They are also all over the world, so lot's of opportunities to travel and relocate, if you're into that.

    Cons

Definite large corporation feel. You may have to relocate frequently. My boss has lived in 8 different cities now in the 10 or so years he has worked there. Pay seems low for the industry but I could be wrong.

    Pros

    Pats well for the area

    Cons

Company does not value its employees (supervisor on down). There is no check and balance. Front office doesn't defend workers. No recourse for higher ups that swear, do misconduct , or even lay hands on workers. No chance for movement with in the company. No job security.

    Advice to Management

This is a stepping stone not a career, do not get complacent or to comfortable.

    Pros

The salary and benefits are good. Good performance is recognized. Opportunities to transfer to other locations.

    Cons

Antiquated processes, very little employee development. Employees have the sense they are a commodity.

    Advice to Management

People are your greatest resource, you should invest a little in developing them.

    Pros

Competitive pay. Good union benefits. Laid back and no micromanagement.

    Cons

Management is to laid back and lack integrity. Really slow for me and haven't had the chance to utilize my skills on a consistent basis.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to detail. Know your people and utilize them affectively.

    Pros

It's a big box company, hard to get noticed. Work hard and produce quality products and you will move up.

I worked at URS Corporation (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great group of people, interesting work, opportunities to collaborate with other departments and offices, opportunities to develop skillsets (although independently, don't expect support)

    Cons

Horrendous disconnect between upper management and technical staff, felt very powerless as a junior staff over my fate at the company, little opportunity for advancement, terrible morale by the time that I left, definitely some borderline illegal labor practices, empty promises about raises/promotions

    Advice to Management

Things have probably changed drastically since I left, with the AECOM takeover, but things were definitely not trending in the right direction. There were a number of business groups within URS that it seemed very clear upper management didnt understand given their focus on large federal/defense contracts.

I worked at URS Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was with URS before they were merged with AECOM. I was in the Federal Services Division, and they were an excellent company to work for. I'm not sure if things have changed much since the merge, But while I was with them they were very ethical, took care of their employees and rewarded good performance. Good pay and decent benefits.

    Cons

Can't think of any bad things to say. Benefits seemed like they could have been a little better (health care) but given the circumstances they were probably as good as could be. It is still a business.

    Advice to Management

Keep the URS culture in AECOM.
