I have been working at US Army as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, depending on your job you'll likely make great friends, travel, work is light at times. A set schedule is normal along with paid time off, plenty of holidays. Much room for promotion depending on your MOS. GI Bill for college.

    Cons

Too many to list.. Little to no planning ahead of time, constant classes, deployments stress family, physical wear on the body, mental stress, possible death or loss of limbs, you are not at all in control of your life (the Army is). No control over where you are stationed or deployed. Most posts are in rural areas, strong culture of drinking. You will likely miss a child's birth. You are under contract and nothing you do or say will change that unless you break the law and are therefore kicked out resulting in your life being made much harder to find jobs etc.

    Advice to Management

Give soldiers more freedom, if we're all unhappy then you will be left with the unwanted soldiers making the Army a horrible place. Stop with the unneeded classes all the time, we got it.. Give higher training to those who want/need it. If all we do is the same thing every year then how can we improve??

    Pros

Good too build credit and set up college short term, good for fitness.

    Cons

Treated like a little kid everyday, claims too be family friendly but not really, will do anything to get what they want out of you (pay cuts, longer time spent from family etc) unlimited BS too deal will day by day. Pay is consistent but not a lot for the hours worked.

    Advice to Management

    Stop promoting shitbag e4's
