    Pros

    You work on a team where everyone has devoted their entire lives to the mission.

    Cons

    Sometimes you get shot at, and you typically don't sleep very much.

    Advice to Management

    Do what you can to maintain the Army culture.

    I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Excellent benefit package, lots of travel, you acquire a unique set of skills hard to acquire in any other job. You get to work with people from different backgrounds and ethnicities.

    Cons

    Could take you away from your family for longs periods of time. No annual bonuses. You don't get to chose your duty location in most cases.

    Advice to Management

    Incorporate more business like training to supervisors and managers to help them succeed while serving our country and also when they get out of the military.

    There are None! Just keep in mind that this is an organization that trains in peace to prepare for war, in the defense of our Great Nation!

    It requires disciplines and and attention to detail. It's a family oriented organization that expects you to achieve and succeed.

    Cons

    It may require months at a time away from family and you can make friends and never see them again because of changes of duty stations

    Hard on families at times

    Advice to Management

    Allow Soldiers who are at least 6 months out to take advantage of free training programs to set themselves up for success on the way out. Too many commanders are more worried about numbers and their own personal gain than their subordinates future.
