    Positive Outlook

I worked at US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of CA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You are able to gain as much litigation experience as you want to get

    Cons

There are the same main cases over and over again, drugs and immigration, and then the reverse

    Advice to Management

The advise is that are thousands of prosecutions and the cases need to be distributed as well as the work load more evenly

I worked at US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of CA

      Pros

Working at a US Attorney's office is an opportunity to be given a lot of responsibility, meaningful work, work in a very collegial environment, and gain significant trial experience.

      Cons

Any government position will pay a salary relatively lower than it's private practice counterpart. The same is true for the US Attorney's Office.

      Advice to Management

My suggestion is to keep a good pulse on what's going on with the new AUSAs. They are the lifeblood of the office.
