    Pay isn't to bad, retirement after 20 years, and the health plan can't be beat.

    Cons

    Long hours away from home and family. Operations at boat stations and CG Cutter require almost strong family support do to the schedule

    Very excited jobs and the ability to contribute to a positive mission and something bigger than yourself.

    Cons

    The requirement to move your family frequently. If you get stationed on a cutter you're likely to spend a good amount of time away from family as well.
