I have been working at US Department of Energy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good team values and excellent training environment. Cost of living is lower than many areas. Real estate here is booming.

    Cons

This is mostly up to the individual. Shift work is common which may be a problem for families. Wind blows hard here and almost every day of the year. Winter is below zero with freezing rain and black ice on roads. Just an fyi if winter isn't your thing.

    Advice to Management

Give ipp to management in case of an emergency injury or illness that makes it impossible for them to return to work. This shows gratitude for taking a manager role.

I worked at US Department of Energy as an intern

    Pros

The internship really had me working on important projects. I applied a lot of the skills I had learned as an undergraduate to these projects as well.

I learned from other SULI program interns that they had similar experiences to mine, which speaks well for the program as a whole. That's not something you see happening in many other internships.

    Cons

The stipend was a bit on the low end.
