I worked at US Foods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was good. You learn quite a bit. and you can get certified to use certain machinery.

    Cons

Long hours and not enough breaks. most of the time you work 6 days a week. depending in which section of the warehouse you working on, you could be exposed to intense heat without enough water been provided. Floor maintenance arrives 3-4 hours after your shift starts so if there is a spill or something you are going to have to deal with it. not all co-workers follow safety regulations which leads to some dangerous situations. unless you are in the union you have to wait about 3-6 months to get full benefits.

    Advice to Management

have supervisors down on the floor making sure all employees follow safety guidelines. have water readily available for employees. fix break arrangement and also provide more brakes. Night selector is a very physical job so 2 days off should be greatly encouraged regardless of whether they trainees, regular workers or union.

I have been working at US Foods full-time

    Pros

Great training and events to further food knowledge
Make your own schedule with customers

    Cons

Zero work life balance with working 6-7 days per week
Worst vacation by far. Only 1 week for the first year and then you accrue at faster rate so it takes 18 months to acquire 2 weeks vacation
    No upward mobility
Problems arise from Operations teams who are incompetent

    Advice to Management

Have boundaries where Sales people don't work all week. Give the people making the company money time off, it's draining,
Hold Operations accountable for their lack of work and follow through

    Working with some great customers.

    Cons

Long hours, poor management, constant change.

    Advice to Management
