I worked at US Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The drivers were awesome. Made the day fun and it would fly by. The warehouse guys were great to work with

    Cons

The upper management was awful!! No direction and bowed to the union . Wouldn't even defend a non union manager. Requires supervisor to have CDL and take routes

    Advice to Management

Since I was there the management has turned over several times. Management needs a solid leader not ones who promote friends

I have been working at US Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work from home schedule, salary is decent for Procurement role and coworkers are friendly and helpful. Healthcare is decent.

    Cons

PTO is terrible-2 weeks of vacation is not enough. Recently removed the summer hours on Friday program. Expanding to centralize procurement department, but no clear leadership or direction. The department has changed rapidly, not for the better. Management is not clear on direction and often times the wrong people are being promoted due to rapid growth. CEO is not impressive and lacks charisma to motivate employees. Overall, company was better 2 years ago.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time making the department and company better with clear direction and ways to motivate. Often times procurement is a very negative environment, but that can be changed with better leadership and improving company culture.
