    Pros

Great opportunity for advancement. Treat the employees like family. overall a good place to work and the weather in AZ cant be beat. thanks

    Cons

So many changes over the past few years. Also the flip flopping of Centralized to decentralized and then back to centralized again is annoying and hurts alot of the employees who cannot relocate. thanks

    Advice to Management

i do not have any advice for management. They do a great job on their own and dont need my two cents :) thanks

I have been working at US Foods full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work from home. Meet interesting people. Fast paced, never boring.

    Cons

Work/life balance is very low. Hard to make good money because margins are so low in the food business.

    Advice to Management

Look harder at the compensation structure to allow reps to make money easier. Work on motivation strategies. Scare tactics don't work.

I have been working at US Foods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, big on their mission and acting on it.

    Cons

Culture is pretty dry. Everyone just sits in the cubicles and doesn't really interact much unless someone has a question. Close weeks you'll probably be at work until 8pm/9pm.

    Advice to Management

    Management is a revolving door

I worked at US Foods full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good size company with opportunities. Good experience to take to learn from.

    Cons

Direction changes year to year. Very quick to make large cuts across areas from year to year. 10% RIF at end of 2016 (happened) and 2017 (planned) at Corporate. Field impacted every couple of years. Unless negotiated, vacation schedule below standard.

    Advice to Management

Talking about culture is not the same as living it. Caring about employees goes beyond what the direction is year to year.

    Pros

Uhhh......the facility is nice I guess.

    Cons

    Where to start...

The company preaches their silly little corporate culture, but there's very little of it actually in practice. The lower level managers won't hesitate to throw you under the bus if it makes them look good. Some of them are very childish and bully employees. Management seems to have this desire to want to instil the fear of god into the employees with regular layoffs. They laid off 10% in corporate last year and they plan on doing the same in 2017. There's very little loyalty to the employees here, they don't care about you as much as they preach that they do with their "cultural snacks". Don't get comfortable because reorganizations and upheaval are a pretty common occurrence around here.

    Advice to Management

Take a closer look at some of your lower level managers. Far too often, I see incompetent people that don't how to lead in charge of people because they've been with the company for a million years. Younger people are perfectly capable of managing as well and don't be afraid to hire millennials.

Additionally, fix your antiquated vacation policy. Two weeks of vacation up until 8 years of service is absurd.

I worked at US Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None that I can think of.

    Cons

    - No room for advancement
    - Training is short and majority is just shadowing
    - Management will write you up for everything and if you try and buck it they will terminate your employment.
    - Management is very petty, not professional and if they do not like you on a personal level you will not last long there
    - HR allows bullying and harassment, many many claims have been filed but nothing done. It is not a "non- retaliation" kind of thing, meaning if you say something the will know who said it and the upper management will treat you unfairly for doing so.
    - Very understaffed because they fire on a daily
    - Outlook does not look bright, do not bother.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be professional. You are paid to be a leader and should make employees feel good about their job, not sending them home in tears almost everyday. If you hire, train and keep people then the company wouldn't be going down the drain so rapidly.
