I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Make a service and a sacrifice for your country! *former employee...system glitch

    Cons

Get placed at the needs of the Corps as far as MOS is concerned...you could have an amazing machine gunner as an Admin clerk, which will hurt the Admin section because he can't even restart his computer correctly or utilize Microsoft word. Fast foward-Time to re-enlist, he want to be a machine gunner they say sorry not the needs of the Corps and he's forced to get out because he wants to be an asset to the Corps and not a liability. Or you have individuals who serve just to get a retirement check...spend their whole time saying "its not about the money", only to retire when they get a pension at 20 years. How convenient lol.

    Advice to Management

Never heard the word "Leadership" so many times, only to see first hand that their version of leadership means being self centered, do it my way, and being selfish, totally different than real leadership. I think its mainly because most military personel come in young and very impressionable. Utilize the great talents in the Corps more effectively instead of taking bluecollar workers sending them to a computer related MOS having them fail but still send them to the fleet in that MOS, and wonder why your Orders or monthly pay gets messed up...facepalm.
