    Pros

Steady Job, You get out what you put in.

    Cons

    Judgmental Enviorment
You stop being a peon once you pickup rank, however some MOS' have realitively high cutting scores making it difficult to pick up quickly.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You will get the opportunity to travel the world and lots of experience in the job you choose. You will make great friends. You will get lots of structure. Teaches responsibility and how to act as functioning member of society.

    Cons

Depending on MOS there is little to no chance of advancementt. You will compete against kids half your age in physical fitness tests. You will be likely be micro managed. You have no say where you go and must be prepared to uproot your family and move at the needs of the govt. You can expect 14 hour days 7 days a week for months and/or years at a time. No matter the hours your pay doesn't change.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If placed in select jobs/locations, great experience. Early leadership roles and responsibilities. Unique travel experiences.

    Cons

Rank structure allows for inefficient people to promote, so superiors can be poor supervisors with little to no knowledge of what they are supervising. Pay equal for all ranks, so if your peers slack off, you carry their weight, but see no benefit. Your future is never in your control, you are directed in every aspect of life. Regularly allows potential get wasted.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to research the potential of your employees, giving incentive to hard work, and not allowing the system to fail the individuals working the hardest.
