    Pros

In the marine corps you acquire great work ethics and get any job done by any means necessary.

    Cons

Sometimes having to work 2 weeks straight with minimal breaks.

    Advice to Management

The marine corps should consider tightening up the brotherhood.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Leadership experience and time off are great. Joined wanting a challenging career and I got it.

    Cons

Depending on the CO you get. I'm sure it takes a lot of hard work to get promoted to LtCol, but not all COs are good. Some try to re-invent the wheel.

Prepare to work excessive long hours for no apparent reason.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

One of the best pros to working in the Marine Corps is the continuous training and leadership positions that you work through and get to show your skills in.
another good pro is the experience and tempo that you work and get used to having to make a mission and long hour to get it accomplished

    Cons

I would have to say a con recently is the deployment schedule that I have been on since I have moved to the east coast. I have done 4 deployments in the past 4 years and my daughter is 3 so I missed out on a lot so far.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Driven individuals with a true-belief in esprit de corps and accomplishing any task at hand. I have never met a Marine, who when faced with a challenge, would willingly back down in any way.

    Cons

Leadership is largely political, advancement is excessively based on time rather than performance, and assignments (both in terms of billet and geography) occur without any input from those it affects.

    Advice to Management

Extend tour length at major duty stations to cover a full enlistment. Provide individuals with more input into selection of duty stations and MOSs. Revamp Fitness Report/Award Writing procedures.
