I have been working at US National Guard part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Part of a team, great pay, great benefits, reenlistment bonuses. Having a greater purpose, helping others.

    Cons

Can get physically and mentally demanding (especially as you get older), Lots of training that the civilian side does not recognize(I can't make as much as I do on the civilian side).
