I worked at US Navy MWR full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Interaction with people from different countries. Fun environment especially during large special events.

    Cons

Good ol' boy system...if you're not apart of that then you will not move up or get recognition no matter what you do for the organization. No bonuses, no training and a lot of gossip.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the good ol' boys and replace them with Management that know how to run an actual business.

I worked at US Navy MWR full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good pay Good employees Quiet A lot of time Great host for events

    Cons

Bad employee communication Bad manager communication Late scheduling for training Disorganized Offices we're muggy and humid

    Advice to Management

This is only 1 location which was the White Beach one. Either new higher management is needed or someone with higher authority must always be there to make sure there is real teamwork from everyone and not just the employees. The managers feel the employees don't have to know everything the manager does but the employees feel otherwise. There is no trust from employee to manager at that location.

I worked at US Navy MWR full-time

      Pros

Overall experience was great. Management was caring, knowledgeable, and flexible with staff. Team-oriented work culture.

      Cons

Often times we were understaffed, so frequent schedule changes and working overtime occurred more often than not. So flexibility is a good trait to possess. Pay could be better given work load/responsibilities.
