    Great benefits (work from home in any city in the continental US)
    Great pay
    Clear production requirements and metrics to receive bonuses

    Review process can be a bit subjective based on quality assurance specialists that are assigned to specific applications, leading to conflicts of opinions.

    Repetitive work on an individual basis. If you like working in teams this is not the job for you.

    The USPTO has great benefits including health care, retirement, and training. Its mission also supports intellectual property rights which benefits the economy.

    As a federal agency it is subject to the numerous restrictive and bureaucratic policies and processes which hinder flexibility and efficiency.

    Great hours, good compensation, you get to telework at first and then given the option to go hoteling to any of the 48 states and Puerto Rico.

    Cons

    Little to no interaction with other co-workers, in the first few years you have to depend on someone else to sign your jobs.

    Give more time to make the cases.

    Lonely job without much interaction with other employees.
    Big dependency on the supervisor for first four years.
    The examiner is a critic not a creator.
    Production/quota system can be a problem for some examiners.

    Streamline numerous initiatives and clarify the rules for examination.

    Cons

    A con to working at the USPTO often is there is too much of a proprietary concept on the teams. Some team members are so concerned with being recognized they do not value the team concept.
