Pros

Paid time off. Campus cafeteria. There are some really good people that work here though they are few and far between. Christmas party is extravagant.

Cons

Benefits are being cut gradually every year. They like to perpetuate the idea that they listen to employees but never actually do. Turn around at the executive level is becoming excessive. Public image is far from reality. Sinking ship mentality and outsourcing have many employees fearing for their jobs. Pressure put on those already doing the lion's share of the work instead of reprimanding and correcting the behaviors of those that do not. They will attempt to sway your voting decisions and political views to benefit the company. An underlying 'whites not welcome' mentality is a serious red flag.

Pros

USAA is a great, financially secure company. They are very generous in their benefit offerings. I was able to earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree with no out of pocket costs. The mission lives and breaths in every area of the company.

Cons

Growth takes a long time. Higher leadership gets shifted around a lot, even the ineffective leaders. More work from home opportunities should be offered for those in staff level roles. Work/life balance can often be a challenge especially with demanding roles. Ineffective employees are rarely held accountable, the strong employees have to pick up the slack with no recognition or additional compensation.

Pros

Benefits are some of the industry best!!! Tons of PTO! Benefit package is great!

Cons

They dont have a call center to take calls, adjuster have to take FNOL and be logged for 4-5 hours a day, monday all day taking rotary calls. No fully staffed CAT team after 7 yrs of more hurricanes/named storms. CAT team is over-limit on claims capacity, let that sit in. No parameters to get caught up once behind. You always come back to work not done after PTO Adjusters are quitting left and right
