I have been working at USG as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

for employees the culture is good. people are nice, great location. Mostly nice people. My manager was awesome as well as other seniors.

    Cons

working as a contractor you feel inequality.. it is better to treat contractors on a individual basis... credit those that are diligent and sincere, thus reward them accordingly as opposed to blanketing a cultural treatment for contractors.
some full timers can feel threatened and bully... but the right management can and will not permit.

    Advice to Management

Please value contractors just as much as you do your employees.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at USG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers. Safe work environment. Benefits commence on day one. Boot allowance. Quarterly bonuses depending on safety, production, etc.

    Cons

For an electrician , I would say that the pay is below industry standard. Unskilled labor starts at $20+ per hour though, and that's pretty friggin great.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing. You really seem to take care of us. Quarterly bonuses, lunches - probably the best place I've ever worked.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at USG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health benefits 401k retirement paid holidays paid vacation good pay! I've worked far worse jobs for far less pay and no benefits.

    Cons

Typically work six days a week and schedule can change at the last minute. I'd rather work too much than not enough and be unable to pay my bills.

    Advice to Management

Have more respect for people's time and personal life. It's hard to make plans especially hotel reservations when the schedule changes without warning.

I worked at USG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Job Stability
    Friendly coworkers
    Promotes safety and inclusion
    Decent pay
    Flexible Hours

    Cons

Mostly nitpicking, but their is a large age gap between senior employees (30+ years of exp) to new employees (0-10 years of exp), which can create an environment that can be unfavorable. Management was working on improving, but I'm not sure if there is an easy answer.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing and finding new ways to promote employee moral.

I worked at USG as an intern

    Pros

They had great people working there in the front office and on the manufacturing floor.

    Cons

Sometimes things were slow going. I would have to wait for a project to do. Also, there were no Engineers to "mentor" me or other inters/Co-ops.

    Advice to Management

Add engineers to help teach interns/co-ops on what is expected of them instead of letting them figure it out on their own.
