I have been working at USG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers. Safe work environment. Benefits commence on day one. Boot allowance. Quarterly bonuses depending on safety, production, etc.

    Cons

For an electrician , I would say that the pay is below industry standard. Unskilled labor starts at $20+ per hour though, and that's pretty friggin great.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing. You really seem to take care of us. Quarterly bonuses, lunches - probably the best place I've ever worked.

I worked at USG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great location, right across from the train station

    Cons

In IT, if you're not prepared to compromise your integrity, this is not the place for you. The phrase "if you can't get the job done, we'll find someone who can" is oft repeated, literally, word for word.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at USG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health benefits 401k retirement paid holidays paid vacation good pay! I've worked far worse jobs for far less pay and no benefits.

    Cons

Typically work six days a week and schedule can change at the last minute. I'd rather work too much than not enough and be unable to pay my bills.

    Advice to Management

Have more respect for people's time and personal life. It's hard to make plans especially hotel reservations when the schedule changes without warning.

I have been working at USG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The plant i work at has over 1 million safe hours with no lost time injuries. There are many of our plants across the US that have 1 thousand plus hours with no lost time injuries. Focused on safety..... and it really is a safe place to work. I was hired into to company with no experience in this field. They train everyone who is willing. Lots and lots of advancement opportunities.

    Cons

Very very strict with attendance policy.

    Advice to Management

Keep your ears tuned to what your employees aren't saying. There's a lot to be heard in their silence. Spend more time one on one.....

    Pros

Employees always help one another, safe, won't fire you for messing up product. Good place to stay if you wanted a long career

    Advice to Management

Stop the swing shift. Listen to your employees. And stop preaching safety if all you care about is productivity, we all can see through your lies
