    Pros

Opportunities to work with a variety of labs with different expertise, good employee benefits (medical care, vacation days and so on).

    Cons

Sometimes the administrative part could be very slow and might take a long time to get paperwork done such as VISA processing for international employees

Try to improve work efficiency and be clear with the financial details

I have been working at UTHealth full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good low-level management, understanding and open to communication.

    Cons

High-level management out of touch with employees, not flexible on salary or raises, willing to lose good employees over minimal requests.

    Advice to Management

Continuing employment here is not desirable due to falling behind on salaries, benefits, and no faculty designation which amounts to pay cuts for long-standing, loyal employees, and appears to not be competitive in the current market.

    Pros

Great Benefits! Some areas have flexible scheduling. Work Life balance is important. There are many locations to choose from.

    Cons

Medical Center Traffic! Expensive Parking! Some areas have no room for professional development or growth. There is no such thing as an annual raise or cost of living raise.

    Advice to Management

Continued self improvement training and manager skills training should rank high Action Plan
