      Pros

Cutting edge healthcare research, Good pay for Houston. Good Mentorship opportunities. insurance is covered. The work environment basically depends on

      Cons

The pay is relatively less compared to other universities. However, it is compensated by other opportunities available at UThealth. I would say cons depend on the professor and the lab you are working at.

      Pros

Great place to work and you can work from home. Managers are supportive. I love working here.

      Cons

Pay is not enough with a master's degree. Some managerial positions require you to know someone to get the job.

Why isn't UTH a "TOP PLACE TO WORK" in Houston anymore?

      Jul 29, 2021 - Administrative Assistant

      Pros

pay is above average, on the outskirt of medical center so don't deal with that traffic, UT benefit packages are good

      Cons

lack of leadership, zero communication, wishy washy executives who don't make decisions, comabtive and aggresive work environment, preferential treatment is everyone so rules don't apply, when complaints are made either nothing is done or the person complaining/reporting is retaliated on

      A For-Profit Company Culture

Jul 7, 2021 - Radiologic Technologist in Houston, TX
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

+ Benefits are good + Facilities are nice to work at

      Cons

      - Unreasonable expectations for productivity: clinics will overbook to that point that clinic staff could not reasonably keep things running on time, then providers and supervisors will question why patients are waiting but unable to enact big changes to control that workflow. - Company culture is very focused on profits/bottom line. - Set expectations that hourly employees should not be working any overtime, but with overbooked clinics and minimal staffing, employees are required to stay for longer hours - High turn-over rates: always seems to be employees leaving and new hires being trained all the time, which puts clinics in a constant state of trying to get employees up to speed

Not much training opportunities, no tuition reimbursement, a lot of the positions are on soft money so job security is not solid
