I have been working at UTHealth full-time

    Pros

Work life balance, flexible scheduling, great health benefits, variety of work, laid back work environment

    Cons

Many managers lack managerial and communication skills, very slow to make operational changes/improvements, pay increases are minimal

    Advice to Management

Communication is key! When you do not communicate to your employees, it causes frustration. Also do not promote employees into leadership roles when they do not possess the appropriate skills to do so. Require ongoing manager training.

I worked at UTHealth full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

UTHealth has a large network with a lot of influence in the Texas Healthcare community.

    Cons

Little to no protection for non-tenure track professors. Academic success of every student is not always taken into consideration when program decisions are made by administration.

    Advice to Management

Value every employee. If an employee is not functioning up to your expectations, tell them and give them an opportunity to make improvements.
