I worked at UW Health full-time

    Pros

Benefit time is about all that you will find worth applying.

    Cons

Workplace bullying is prominent. Management engages in bullying mentality and enjoys finding ways to blame its RT staff. Scheduling is awful, forced-assigning is accepted as a norm. No opportunity for advancement. Charge therapists should not be in a leadership position. Staff are not respected by management. You're just a number and your work/life balance means nothing to management. Work somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Quit micromanaging your staff. Stop accepting bullying as a norm. Too top heavy. Clean house with management. Retention rates are terrible. Quit using the "stepping stone" excuse for a reason as to why retention rates are so high.

I have been working at UW Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smart, good people who believe in mission of patient care
    Decent benefits

    Cons

Changes in C-suite and HR stuff in recent years have changed the culture.. Used to be good place to work, don't care about employees any more. Long hours, gotcha culture, finger pointing and blame from arrogant senior leaders who create barriers for those doing the work. Has turned into bad place to work which is sad as the mission is meaningful and good. Shortstaffed everywhere, Lip service to caring about employees. Huge bureaucracy, very political-leaders throw each other and employees under the bus. Managers are constantly in meetings and working long hours-hard to support employees

    Advice to Management

Get out of the way of the great employees who actually know the work-easy to sit above and make judgments and blame when you aren't actually doing the work and experiencing all the barriers to getting even simple things done.
