    Pros

Ulbrich of Illinois was such a great company to work for as an intern. Everyone was friendly and always willing to help when I needed it.

    Cons

There were really no complaints from me

I have been working at Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals full-time

    Pros

Ulbrich has a unique family environment. A mid-size company that offers fair wages and solid benefits. Great company and great work environment! It is refreshing to work for a company that truly cares about the employees.

    Cons

At this time no cons come to mind.

I have been working at Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals full-time

    Pros

A lot of available overtime, laid back environment, something different everyday as far the maintenance department is concerned.

    Cons

Nobody likes hearing the truth, floor supervisors are all too concerned with watching their back and planting the knife in yours, all that overtime mentioned above is mandatory.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to lead by example the people you have placed in charge are terrible at being a supervisor, they understand the machine's purpose but have forgotten the employee. Do not make people work every Saturday especially the Saturday of holiday weekends, the nerve to schedule all floor employees and no front office personnel sets a very bad tone for the people who make the operations happen.

I have been working at Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good and hourly people plant personnel rock. They will only take so much

    Cons

Family run company that is not family run. Run by salesman who promise employees everything and deliver nothing.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the managers who are just protecting themselves and using there immediate personals ideas as there own. Was a good company in the day. Certain managers that where moved should have been terminated when there divisions where closed. Hiring back personal that left for reason in the past is not normal protocol, if someone leaves it's because they where not happy in the first place, so why bring them back to be unhappy and go through the motions a second time.

Highly recommended place to grow and develop. Team atmosphere.

I have been working at Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company is just the right size to get involved in many facets of business. You are never bored and always able to contribute to the companies success. The family is great to work for , they care about their people and make sure employees are being treated proper. Christmas/Holiday party , children Christmas party, picnics, award dinners , turkeys at Thanksgiving.. Top Managment is on top of their game, all are hard working and dedicated to success. Employees at all levels are trying to make Ulbrich the best it can be. The guys on the shop floor and Manufacuting Managment (in CT is my experience) are outstanding and proud of their work. Great people to be around. We are family.

    Cons

Who's perfect? We can do a better job of ensuring that what we do in CT so well is done at all facilities. Illinois is outstanding from my experience. People at are outstanding at all locations

    Advice to Management

    Stay the course!

    Pros

Good company, great benefits, family owned, good hours

    Cons

Poor management and corporate does not listen about the bad management. They take the managers side and do not try to find out the truth.

    Advice to Management

Bad management make bad employees. Poll the employees, you will find out who your bad managers are. Business would improve ten fold if management was improved.
