I worked at Ulta Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I did not feel micromanaged and was offered the tools I needed in order to be successful. Our Store Manager was amazing and really helped to create a great working environment and culture.

    Cons

We had 2 new stores open that were somewhat close by, which slowed down sales, for the store, but increased the overall traffic and sales for Ulta in the state.
Con for the store but pro for the overall company.

    Advice to Management

Create and set a good example as well as set the tone.

I've never worked for an employer who honestly gave me constructive criticism. The culture here genuinely wants you to improve and grow.

    Cons

I love my job and I honestly don't have any cons, other than living without holidays, but that's any retail management position.

I have been working at Ulta Beauty part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you like working part-time they start you out around 4-6 hours a day, 3-4 days a week. They strongly believe in having a great team so they make sure they hire people who fit that overall image of a great personality. You can easily climb the ladder to higher positions if your interested, they love to train you. You do get annual raises. They aren’t much but it’s nice to have!

    Cons

My store only hires part-time people and I’m not sure if all stores do this so that can be a downfall if you’re looking for hours. Retail is retail so not every day will be the same and you’ll encounter tough situations.

    Advice to Management

It’s best to come into any management position with a leader mindset not a boss mindset. I feel both terms are different especially if you’re dealing with managing different personalities. Be available to talk to your associates so they can feel comfortable in the work place.
