    Pros

It's a growing company and you will learn every single day.

    Cons

As a manager you are not valued all the time. Pay needs to improve and evolve according to what employers expect from employees.

I worked at Ulta Beauty part-time

    Pros

Great discount, ability to gain vast beauty knowledge, definite opportunity for growth within company, amazing salon discount, occasional gratis, brand training, managers help advisors to feel empowered in their position.

    Cons

Pay is very low. Hours are low and can change often with little notice. The training and opportunities can seem to be caused by favoritism. Dealing with rude impatient and entitled customers. Sales goals can be unrealistic, no commission.

    Advice to Management

Make sure all employees are receiving proper training for register, floor selling, and dealing with tough customers. Work on motivating and encouraging through enthusiasm and positivity instead of lack of support.

I have been working at Ulta Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work life balance, great pay, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, medical, dental, optical, 401k, they have a great training program. There is always room for advancement with this company. They promote from within.

    Cons

Overtime not offered, must be willing to work nights and weekend shifts, must take a non paid lunch break. Other than that it's a great company to be a part of. They do care about their employees.

    Pros

    Loved my actual work/job
    Interacting with customers
Sometimes customers could be difficult but I enjoyed the customer service aspect and being trusted with my creative abilities (granted we all weren't created equally talented when it comes to creative instincts but mine we more good and for several years earned me promotions because of it)

    Cons

    Hated management
If I loved the management I might have stayed with this company even longer than the five years I worked there
I later heard a lot of the poor management was fired (thankfully) but they were existing nightmares for many of us while they were there

I worked at Ulta Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Walk ins. Employee discount. Play with makeup. Free services. How many more words to make the 20 word minimum?? I mean, seriously....

    Cons

Hours and commission met vs pay was NOT good. Incentive to move up not realistic. Minimum wage vs commission is minimal for work load. Management played favorites. Almost impossible to promote as a stylist.

    Advice to Management

Give more love to your stylists, especially the loyal ones, as they make up a large percentage of retail sales as well as free help in retail when no help is given or available from the retail side. Conversion numbers are unrealistic for incentive to move up. Commission percentages are horrible. Make incentives better and more trustworthy. Promote a positive work atmosphere. Happy employees = successful store!!!!

I worked at Ulta Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They ONLY pros were gratis, decent benefits, and having a set schedule. I also had some great coworkers on the retail side.

    Cons

TERRIBLE management that verbally abuses employees, you will be expected to do the job of 3 other people when it's completely out of your job description, extremely high turn over, low pay, corporate and management will literally spy on you on the cameras, and there's absolutely no room for growth. Extremely disappointing experience!
