I worked at Ulta Beauty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn about and use many different product lines.

    Cons

Poor scheduling for the part time Beauty Advisors, during weekends never have enough help.

    Advice to Management

Rework the amount of hours allotted for labor costs to include enough hours to be able to have help during weekends and "truck days."

I have been working at Ulta Beauty part-time

    Pros

I feel the walk in business is great! I'm almost always busy there and I like that.

    Cons

You only take home 42% of what you do. They make me stay until 9 at night even though realistically you can't take a client passed about 8. I have also been noticing when we (hairdressers) aren't busy they are having us stock shelves and do store closing duties so they can keep their payroll down.

    Advice to Management

Treat your hairdressers as professionals. Quit micromanaging us. We should be able to work full time and have benefits. Raise our commission rate.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Ulta Beauty part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team could be awesome. The discount is good (25% on products and 50% on services, in store only).

    Cons

BAs don't get gratis. If we make goals for contests, we don't get anything (no gratis, no events, if there is an event they don't post the date & time). Training was short and not helpful. Huge focus on meeting metrics (loyalty cards, data capture, and credit) and tasking (cleaning, organizing, facing the product) in "down time" (which doesn't really happen). Truck and ad team are faced with unrealistic goals.

    We are literally always understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Schedule people based on need, not payroll alchemy.

Bad pay, managers play favorites, I have to work Sundays, ( I was told when I started working there that I would be immediately sent to two weeks of Redken training, I've been there for months and I have not seen any training yet)
