I have been working at Ulta Beauty part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Possibilities of moving up, gratis once in a blue moon, recognition for accomplishments, good discounts, large amount of knowledge on all products available

    Cons

Little to no training, poor scheduling, poor hiring routine, favoritism out weighs a good work ethic (at least in my store)

    Advice to Management

Move employees within the Ulta family up before hiring others with no retail experience to higher positions, make sure you're knowledgeable of the availability of your employees, divide hours based off of commitment and work ethic; not favoritism

I have been working at Ulta Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great perks like discount, gratis, amazing relationships with Ulta associates and brand partners.

    Cons

Thrown into management positions, asked to preform above and beyond as a manager but problem associates get to do whatever they want.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers the way you want them to work. We are here receiving a paycheck, we are here to work for you and we can't read your mind.

I worked at Ulta Beauty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ulta is a corporation so they can offer more benefits then you get as a hairstylist in many salons.

    Cons

They did not seem to care about your personal interest, family life or issues you might have outside of work. Always felt like someone was trying to catch me doing something wrong or stealing something.

    Advice to Management

You need to treat employees like humans that have families and a life.
