      Pros

Good Pay & Benefits Company has responded great to recent worldwide issues (prepared)

      Cons

Poor communication skills company wide and in departments. Bonus structure isn't obtainable Training Metrics are not always obtainable, company does well with extending and listening and looking at the bigger picture but shouldn't wait for an employee to have performance issues before assistance

      Pros

Good pay, Choice work shift, Friendly team mates

      Cons

Loud music blaring, Being held accountable for students who enroll but are not interested in completing the enrollment process. This caused me to lose many students and then get written up. The background check system causes students to get disqualified and admissions reps are not able to keep the student on their roster which effects rep. productivity. High turn over of admissions reps.

As an accredited educational institution, all students who enroll at UMA must meet eligibility requirements. Our mission is to equip and empower students to excel in healthcare careers. As part of that, we must ensure that students who enroll are not only eligible and qualified for our programs but also for future employment in a healthcare role. Unfortunately, not every person is eligible or qualified, but many are. Our Admissions representatives play a sometimes challenging but vital role in helping people who are interested in pursuing a healthcare career determine their eligibility, find the program that best fits their interests and qualifications and then start an academic journey that can ultimately lead to a career in healthcare. Similarly, our Learner Services and Education teams support students through that journey, and our Career Services team helps to connect qualified graduates with healthcare employers around the country who need their talents. Pursuing a new degree or certificate program and launching a new career isn’t always easy, but thousands of UMA students complete the journey every year. Seeing them succeed and go on to serve in much-needed healthcare positions is what we thrive on at UMA!

      Ghetto

      Pros

Pay is good if you only have an AA or if you just got a bachelor’s. It starts at 18 for everyone regardless of experience etc. and then you get .50 raise at 3 months, 6months, and 1$ at 1 year. You get a bonus every quarter, 5 placements is 1,500, 7 is 2,500 and so on. Most people get 1,500.

      Cons

Its really ghetto and your performance depends on the people you work with. So it creates an environment with a lot of finger pointing and fighting. Some of the managers are so close with employees they even go out and drink together so of course it creates favoritism. Good performers will make more money, but will not have a chance to move up because if they are producing good they wont be taken out of the CSA role. Its just a overall bad environment. some people are scared to speak up about another persons behavior because the manager will just tell them what you said and you will have to watch your back when you are off UMA property because most of these employees have nothing to lose. Lastly, since have worked there 2 years ago, I know of 4 managers who got fired for sleeping with employees.

      DO NOT WORK HERE

Feb 18, 2020 - Career Services Advisor in Tampa, FL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The entry level pay is good and the benefits are good.

      Cons

There is absolutely no job security. Each month you are expected to meet extremely unrealistic metrics while a mallet hangs over your head. You already know that if you don't meet your metrics you will be fired but the management team likes to constantly remind you of this a couple of times a week. When you interview and are in training they constantly re-assure you that the metrics are really easy to meet and that there is nothing to worry about. But when you are done with training and put you on the floor you are essentially on your own. While the training and management team says that they are there to help you there is really nothing that they can do. They can not make employers have open job positions and they can not make graduates answer the phone and go on the interviews that we set them up. Therefor you constantly are in jeopardy of getting fired and the outcome is completely out of your hands. NEVER TAKE A JOB FROM HERE!!!!

      Don't believe the hype

      Feb 7, 2019 - Career Services Advisor

      Pros

Good pay, hours aren't terrble, can be fun if your on the right teams, lots of events during the holidays. Great as an in-between careers job. Bonus structure is a little better but still not great.

      Cons

Upper management acts like they care, they only really care about the top advisors and there is a lot of favoritism. Some of the goals they set are a bit much and slowly but surely a lot of the companies that you contact to find jobs for your graduates don't want anything to do with UMA. They've just hired some new Senior Directors from the outside so don't get your hopes too high if you want to grow here either, it's clear that they have a "type" when it comes to promoting as well. You can work your butt off but in the end your job there depends on convincing someone to take a $11 a hour job after they've spent $10,000-20,000 on a so called degree here.
