    I worked at Umbra full-time

    Pros

Yumbra cafe, convenient. Peers, my true joy. Brand, less and less meaningful.

    Cons

Fake reviews, the good reviews are actually posted by management, that tells you all you need to know. Leadership, only 3 opinions count and you are not one of them, 2 only count because they don't have the fortitude to disagree with 1, it is a riddle, figure it out. Entire books on psychology could be written on this diabolical culture.

    Advice to Management

Want the answer to the question that haunts you? Why you are having such difficulty growing the business? Look in the mirror and you will see the answer.

    I worked at Umbra full-time

    Pros

Yumbra Cafe Great team, great food

    Cons

Where to begin. The management is awful, they yell at you and each other, they have no respect for the employees or each other, they talk trash about whoever isn't in the room. They have no direction, constantly change their minds what to do, how to do it and when things go wrong the lowest level employee will be the scapegoat with management saying the employee should have known better.

    Advice to Management

    Retire already. All of you.

    I worked at Umbra full-time

    Pros

Working for "Umbra" the brand that once was decent. Great name to put on a resume for future jobs since most companies and people still don't know how terrible this company has become.

    Cons

-Don't pay according to skill level. -No positive encouragement just constant complaints from management leaving you to feel of lesser value than you actually are. -Keep hiring recent grads so they don't have to pay high salaries, unless they randomly favor you if you either a) are family or b) humor them -Disrespectful -Ungrateful -Derogatory

    Advice to Management

Retire. Hire proper leadership that positively encourages employees and actually has a passion/eye for design - not just profits.

    Cons

    - Little professional growth or development - Outdated and unprofessional management - Little to no process or training, ad-hoc pace - Hard work or excellent work is not recognize, focus instead on low skill persons who are only good at being yes man or networking game

    Advice to Management

I worked at Umbra full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    None only good for temporary

    Cons

No training, unprofessional, favouritism, dishonesty. Managers promote favoritism and all have a pet to sit on their lap. They dont praise people for performance is according to who's favorite you are. So bonus is based on that too..no raises. So if you want a little extra for the increased cost of living you have to get your nose brown. You will not move ahead because of your job well done. Hr and uppermanagent... work hand in hand are equal in dishonesty. So dont be fool by the friendly phone call that makes it all sound as the greatest place to be. Hr is good at their job and make it all seam perfect. All of the good reviews is them putting them on, they figure out a way to go around the Bush for someone to post it for them that's why the good reviews are so ambiguous, noting specific. Is a revolving door. I saw waves of people come and go in less than a year I was there.

    Advice to Management

Be honest, stop micromanaging. Dont take advange of new grads and designers for your own profit.

I worked at Umbra full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    1. Great creative team 2. Always encourage new design ideas 3. You can create your own opportunities 4. Great co-workers (at non-management level)

    Cons

high expectation without providing right resources, e.g. : 1. no training 2. unrealistic due date - everything is ad-hoc and everything is last minute 3. lack of manpower - does not replace people when they leave, stretching the team thinner and thinner 4. Lack of vision - Management is only short-sighted and could not lead the company
