Beware: This place is a joke if you will be hired as a Solution engineer / cx engineer

      Pros

Just one I could find : free food.

      Cons

I am surprised how this company still holds 3.5 stars rating on glassdoor. So I worked at a reputed MNC before joining Unbxd, jumping from a big MNC to a startup was for learning curve. But this place was horrible. I instantly regretted changing my job. 1. - The tech stack is jQuery. Yes! That's right, in an era of frameworks like react and Vue they still work on jQuery. - Also the back-end stack is python, just plain and simple python. if you are looking technical growth, its a red flag. - Front-end stack is: javascript without es6, jQuery, and plain CSS (no frameworks), if promised it's a lie. 2. The management is horrible. People with no technical knowledge will be given designation as TPM(Technical Project Manager). 3. The interviewer will lie to you about the job role and technical stack ( I was told they are migrating to react, I left the company and they are still planning to migrate). 4. If you are interviewing for a Solution Engineer role, then don't bother. 5. People with designation of 'Solution Architect' do not have the ability to write what is called 'clean code', and no knowledge of the product whatsoever. 6. Don't expect promotion or hike, such things don't exist. 7. Upon that, you will work 24/7 on a lousy project. You will have to pull up morning and night shifts because shortage of engineers. 8. As a CX engineer you will play the role of the customer success manager(csm) , TPM, engineer etc. The csm has no technical knowledge whatsoever or neither do they know about the product, and they will schedule the meetings when they are free, which they are most of the time, and not when you are free. 9. You will be expected to get on a call with client at 2:00 am / 3:00 am and your manager will expect you to be at office by 11:00 am. 10. There is a support team, which is a joke again and so is QA team. You will as a CX/Solution engineer will be doing their job. 11. They have people who have previously worked in reputed companies and were promised a lie. They do not use your talent to the fullest, instead they deplete it. 12. Notice period is 2 months. 13. Back-end team and other teams will not bother to reply to your texts if you work as a solution Engineer and your manager will not help you out either. Be ready to do everybody’s leftist work yourself as a solution Engineer. 14. The Back-end lead will not want to solve errors from their end, so you will have to manage that too. 15. Pointless meetings that lead to nowhere. 16. The founders of the company Pavan and Prashant must improve the condition of work environment by hiring skilled workers and not pretentious idiots sitting at higher management level. 17. This company is around 10 years old, but still its product is not par with its competitors nor will ever be. There are better startups you can choose to work for where you will learn a lot and your talent will be utilised not depleted. 18. The people you will report to as an engineer will not have any technical background but will still try to boss around, which can get really frustrating. 19. Needless to say save yourself and do not join.

Not a place to work for a peace of mind

      Jan 21, 2020 -

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Some highly talented and passionate engineers - Free food and snacks

      Cons

The company's ecommerce Search product is not the best in the market. Multiple competitors are innovating with new features and the product is rapidly falling behind. New products under development do not even launch and get scrapped altogether, after wasting time, money and effort. People: Product Managers - Highly paid, IIM grads with a sense of entitlement. Always have an opinion about other peoples work. Zero clue about their own projects' timelines and motivations. Senior Management - Sit in the US. Have no idea how to manage remote teams. CEO - The CEO is an arrogant and petty person who has zero people management skills and no respect for the work of others. Highly opinionated, and berates others on calls without listening to any justification whatsoever. Customer Success - large number of Customer Success personnel have either quit or been fired. For a time, engineers and developers were forced to handle customer tickets rather than work on the product features. New hires are brought onboard with the promises of working on products and then made to work on customer tickets. CTO - A much better guy than the CEO. But has to realize throwing money at problems won't fix them. HR - Generally okay people. But are forever stressed by the senior management's clueless requirements. Numerous people across Marketing, CS and Product have been fired or left the company in the last 1 year Culture: Politics present in large doses. Usually perpetrated by one or two key individuals but with arguments and fights felt across the organization.

      Poor clarity, work culture

Nov 8, 2019 - Product Marketing Manager in Bangalore

      Pros

-Get to learn about the e-commerce tech space -Free food! -Have heard good things about job prospects & growth for developers

      Cons

-Toxic work culture - Product Managers behave like they own the place, and the rest are second-grade citizens. -Inertia - Decisions, progress is deliberately stymied. -Lack of clarity: multiple stakeholders try to have a say, endless back and forth. No ownership. -Marketing is treated like a content help desk for sales and CSM. No room to contribute ideas to drive growth for the product. No point in recruiting lateral hires and then micro-managing them.

      Pros

Friendly employees, free food and snacks, good benefits, good work life balance (based on the role), can facilities for night shift employees

      Cons

      1) No vision, no goals, it keeps changing and the fouders are not invested and determined enough 2) Too many leadership changes and attrition at a leadership level 3) No motivation to work, work is repetitive (no evolution of the product and technology) 4) No collaboration, no respect, no ownership - even from the founders, they DO NOT respect employees 5) Our competitors are going ahead of us and we have lost most of our key customers since the past few quarters, but nothing is being done about it other than playing blame games between Engineering and Customer Success teams
