I worked at Under Armour part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cool store environment. A decent 40% employee discount. Fun if you like interaction with a diverse customer culture. You get trained in extensive product knowledge as an associate.

    Cons

Cult-like management. They act like camp councilors and treat/talk to the staff like babies. Very controlling over the small things like going on break, and delegating assignments. Certain managers spend the whole day eating long lunches in the office, playing on the computer for hours. Then when they eventually emerge to the sales floor, they are quick to attack a staff member if they don't look constantly busy. The hypocrisy was unreal. The pay is so low, and they force and pressure you to keep wearing and buying the latest UA clothes, that it seems like they are more concerned into making their staff their own customers rather than members. I felt pressured to spend my hard earned money back into the brand to keep up with the UA fashion police.

    Advice to Management

UA is in my opinion the best brand period. Now it's time to wipe the slate clean of these Micky Mouse-like condescending managers, and bring in some real leadership.

I worked at Under Armour full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company, great benefits, great story, inspirational founder, great product, exciting events, worked with some good people and I learned a lot.

    Cons

Lousy HR, unethical senior leadership, dog eat dog environment, pay is not competitive for exempt leaders or hourly teammates. Great company being destroyed by personal agendas and ambitions.

    Advice to Management

Start again and find competent HR professionals who have integrity. Choose senior leaders on how they achieve success not just on their success alone. Demand those who live by the competencies.

    Pros

The Team at the DH do there best to work together to achieve their daily goals. The Benefits are bar none better then any other distribution warehouse in maryland

    Cons

The Disconnect between the DH and the Tide Point Headquarters are paramount including the way the "teams " are treated between the production warehouses as well as the goals of the company.

    Advice to Management

Go back to basics and treat all the employees the way Kevin intended in the beginning.

I have been working at Under Armour part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The brand is of good quality and the discount is amazing.

    Cons

Hours are not of a part time position 4-5 hours per shift. Shifts can be 1-5 days (if scheduled at all)

    Advice to Management

Train your team leads on communication. Often people are moved up into positions but lack the skill to communicate with their team. Understanding that everyone comes from various previous positions, respect is key.
