I have been working at Undertone full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-A sales culture unlike another other. Many employees have been here for years which is something you don't see in the ad industry.

-Opportunity to manage sellers and enter player/coach role. The company prides themselves on growing sales people into managers. Account Executives can become Senior Account Executives and Associate Directors which will allow them to manage a team.

    -Great work/life balance

-Fast pace with lot's of opportunity for growth

-Tremendous amount of support for sales executives

    -High compensation if successful

    Cons

-Competitive industry in general so the company must continue to differentiate itself in market.
-Not many cons come to mind.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to hire great talent.

I have been working at Undertone full-time

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, ability to WFH, credibility within the industry, once a really cool and unique product offering. Lots of snacks and drinks. Monthly company paid lunches.

    Cons

Undertone was a very good and financially strong company many years ago. However, the best days are way behind them. Ever since Perion acquired undertone, things have been downhill from there. The company has seen multiple rounds of layoffs in the past couple of months and most, if not all of the folks who made Undertone what it was, are no longer here. The CRO provides zero guidance/leadership and the CEO has no clue how to run a media company. Culture and team morale are awful...you walk around the office and it looks like people are just waiting for the other shoe to drop and the axe to fall on them. They haven't paid out full bonuses in years. If you're looking at undertone, stay far, far away. Avoid like the plague. Doubt anyone from HR will respond to reviews because there's nobody left in that department...just look at LinkedIn.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the employees...communicate with them so they're not left in the dark. Provide growth opportunities for top performing contributors. Figure out the companies identity and stick with it. Break away from Perion and try to salvage whatever you can before the ship sinks. Pay out bonuses.

    I worked at Undertone full-time

    Pros

Good people. Nice perks like snacks, food, unlimited PTO, generous parental leave.

    Cons

Used to be a good company. In my opinion, ever since Perion network (the parent company based in Israel) acquired Undertone, and now makes all major decisions, things have changed, and not in a good way. General consensus appears to be that the company doesn't care about people anymore.

Many employees have left over the past year, and more may be looking to leave.

There's been too many leadership changes in a short amount of time.

I have been working at Undertone full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Undertone is a positive environment with a great culture. Almost everyone who works for Undertone cares about the people around them and the general success of the business, not just there own piece of it. Benefits include: too many holidays to count, work from home flexibility, unlimited PTO (manager approved), beer cart on fridays, celebrations for every win big or small.

    Cons

Personal growth can be hard depending on which team you're on, if that team is growing/shrinking/changing etc, but many people move within the company if they are looking for a change of pace.

    Pros

Most of the engineers were great to work with. Had food every Monday and Thursday

    Cons

Some engineers are very resistant to new technology. Our test suite wasn't that great. Lots of manual testing. Developers had lots of resistance to writing their own unit test.

used to be a fun work atmosphere, worked with some smart people, learned a lot

    Cons

some of the managers were clueless, no loyalty to long term employees, sales always more important than employees, used to be a great place to work before new managers were hired and ruined the company culture, workload was too burdensome
