I have been working at Uni-Select full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Solid Teamwork for the most part but we are a new warehouse and we are told the only one of it's the only one of it's kind.

    Cons

This company is too concerned with keeping part time staffers from getting more than 25 hrs and full time from getting more than 40. Nine new stores have been added since we opened for business but we are actually expected to meet the delivery schedule with fewer employees than we started with.

    Advice to Management

Stop Micro managing and get out of the way, trust your experienced staff to set the example and bring new hires up to speed. It will boost morale and and enhance teamwork.

    I worked at Uni-Select full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Uniselect provided me with an opportunity to gain industry experience. Local control of operation has helped grow this company over time. Many employees were good people with tremendous experience.

    Cons

New SAP platform has severely challenged morale and stability. Board has changed leadership way too frequently, seemingly blaming them for performance.

    Advice to Management

It was not your employees fault that operations have deteriorated. Your system (SAP) is seriously flawed. Be honest with employees, firing several hundred people and calling it unlocking shareholder value is absurd.

    Pros

Very stable company, great experience-you will definitely learn working for this company. Work environment is high pressure with high praise - Management thanks its employees as often as possible.

    Cons

Work - Life balance is not the best. There is a lack of structure in onboarding employees. Many times rules change and everyone is unaware. The company is behind the times with technology.

    Advice to Management

The company should update its technology. The company should not be so quick to aquire other companies until they can control the businesses they already own. The company needs to create a brand identity for itself.

work too many hours - not enough staff
    no work/life balance
