Thank you for your feedback. It always disappoints us when one of our Team Partners feels their experience was a less than positive one. We hope you’ve found a better fit for yourself.

    Pros

There were many 'Pros' to working at UniFirst. They have a very thorough training program that is supported by corporate and regional trainers. The job does not require you to work on nights or weekends allowing for a great work / life balance. And, the people at Loc 821 were friendly and supportive.

    Cons

During the time that I spent at UniFirst I cannot think of anything that I would list as a "Con". If you are a salesperson, or desire to build a career in sales, there is no reason that you cannot be successful at UniFirst.

    Great Place to Work

Dec 18, 2020 - Customer Development Representative in Indianapolis, IN

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Amazing culture, competitive, rewarding, great compensation. I love working at UniFirst because it is like a family. I know that my teammates will always support me and help me grow. If you are looking for a place where you can call home, you have found it! There is great work life balance and you have freedom to be creative and your full self. This job is competitive because you have to challenge yourself to hit your goals. It keeps the job interesting and fun. When you do hit your goals, it is all worth it. It is so rewarding helping other companies save money and improve their image, while also reaching your own personal goals. Compensation for this position is salary plus commission/bonuses which is very nice. I know I will always have a steady paycheck with salary but the sky is the limit on commission/bonuses. Overall, a fantastic place to work!

    Cons

I have not found any cons since I have worked here.

    Pros

If your looking for a career that allows you to have a great work life balance. Outstanding management from top to bottom, Top notch training, professional and educated colleagues then UniFirst is for you. I could not put enough emphasis on the dedication and hard work that you will receive from your management team and colleagues alike. My time at UniFirst has been more than I expected and only wish I had applied earlier in my professional life. What truly makes UniFirst great as an employer is honestly the people that you get to work side by side with everyday you will learn that everyone has a common goal of being successful and that really motivates you to keep pace and accomplish the goals you set for your self

    Cons

Truly the only con , if it is even really a con, would be if you are lazy and or unmotivated and don’t want to work then you will be very unhappy simply because the success you can have at UniFirst is a direct reflection of the amount of effort you put into your work.

    Pros

I sold cars for 10+ years before moving into UniFirst. Although I made great money in car sales the hours killed my personal life. I wanted a job that gave me better work life balance and still allowed me the chance to earn a 6 figure income. I'm about to finish up my 1st year with the company and I won't be making a 6 figure income, I suspect it's going end up being in the lower 70s. However thats my first year! And I got holidays, and weekends off. Being an outside sales rep gives you a ton of freedom. if you wanted to stay at home and sleep all day...you could get away with it but only for a little bit. You have to be a go getter, someone who doesn't need someone else to say 'Get to work' cause if you aren't you won't make it. Also you are going see some amazing businesses, and meet some incredible people. This year because of my experience with Unifirst I was actually on the film set of a block buster movie. It was an amazing opportunity to see the behind the scenes action. Something I would have never experienced selling cars. I've never worked this less in my life, as someone who was used to 70-80 hr weeks I rarely work more then 50 hrs and the truth be told as I've gotten more efficent, developed my contacts and database I've been approach that sub 40 hour mark. My manager doesn't care, all my manager wants is green folders (sales). The training is top notch but could use some tweaking The CRM system is alright but could use some tweaking (and it is getting upgraded so if you read this review later...this may have changed

    Cons

Get in the field early with your reps, in my case I was kinda stuck without a sales manager at first. Also tweak your training. Stop focusing on being so formal CNAs don't go down like that and you know it. Also your VIP Audit pretty much falls on deaf ears with the client base everyone offers it, I very rarely get a CNA by offering a VIP. Improve the connection between service and sales. Especially after a close and before an install.

Thank you for your feedback! We are glad to hear that you are happy with your move to UniFirst! It can definitely be a great change for someone who has been in an industry where nights, weekends, and holidays are spent working. And you’re right, we definitely like our work/life balance, but it means working hard even when you have a lot of freedom. You are right about the changes coming down the line with our CRM. We are definitely getting excited. ;) It’s pretty cool that you can see your efficiency improving. Your advice to new Salespeople is very true. Selling those No-Programmers (Prospects without a Uniform or Facility Service provider) and smaller Accounts while you qualify and get into your larger opportunities is the way to go.

The year was 1936 and Aldo Croatti had a vision: to serve the men and women who put in the hard work. He founded a laundry business to clean clothes of factory workers and others in the heavy-soil business. With UniFirst, he created an entirely new concept: uniform rental services. This business concept gained popularity because it delivered on a key customer need: helping businesses work safer and smarter while presenting a better business image.
