I have been working at Unibind (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have worked for the company for many years. I've enjoy the teamwork atmosphere. They offer free medical benefits, free gym memberships and several company events throughout the year.
They continue to be innovative by creating new products which results in new positions. And the vacation package is also great.

    Cons

The company can improve on communicating better between departments.

    Advice to Management

Take advise and listen to the feedback you are receiving from your employees.

I have been working at Unibind full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company has been around. They keep innovating and listening to employees. They have the best benefit and indeed the best 401K matching in the industrie and most paid days of. They offer now even a free gym membership.
People from within are promoted and given opportunities.

    Cons

The fast growing means not enough time for training. They have implemented now a program that is better but could still use improvement.

    Advice to Management

Keep training and keep improving andlooking forward to the remodeling of the building.

    Pros

The interview process was very professional. A lot of testing. The Belgian interviewer really took his time and was very knowledgable about all software. Retail packaging is experience is welcome. Salary and benefits are really really good.

    Cons

The growth is rapid and not everybody is trained. Take your time otherwise to many mistakes will happen.

    Advice to Management

Again take your time and train. People will really appreciate it.

I worked at Unibind full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are decent. You also get your name on notebooks.

    Cons

I read the previous reviews and still decided to give Unibind a shot. Very bad idea. The moment you step into the building, you're greeted with soiled ripped carpet through out the entire building. The cubicles are even coffee stained. It's very disgusting. That aside, there is little to no training. The "managers" basically put you off to other salespeople to train you. Be prepared to just winging it and hope for some decent sales. Don't expect "management" to communicate sales goals or even if they're your manager as they don't really know themselves. "Leadership" talks a very big game. They will tell you this company has huge opportunity for career growth which it does not. Oh and if you're a good looking guy, you're hired. You don't have to be a good salesperson, just as long as you look good, you're in.
Gossip and politics rule Unibind. Throwing fellow employees under the bus to "advance" is normal business practice. All in all, consider Unibind a stepping stone to your next career move.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice for them.

I have been working at Unibind full-time

    Pros

I have been with the company 17 years. Have done about every job and love the ability to learn new things. This company is the most innovative that I have worked with. Always one step ahead of the changing needs of the industry.

    Cons

Need to get back to working as a team instead of competition within the division.

    Advice to Management

Continue to get input from the employees to keep them involved in the planning.

    Pros

Good benefits from day one, plenty of holiday time off, convenient location and Belgian chocolate.

    Cons

No leadership at any level, the CEO and executive team do not want to hear the truth about their management staff in any way. The salespeople compete with themselves for sales, there is lack of transparency in how they pay you and orders are messed up almost daily. The company tries to innovate by recycling ideas from 1985, this isn't Back to the Future guys! No advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Try to understand your employees. The CEO and management staff walks around as if they are untouchable, not sure if I should bow down or kiss the ring. The morale at the company is awful, many of the employees are their to collect the paycheck and get out as quick as they can. Keep the place fun and energetic and the salespeople will be more productive. Be honest about the job description, you will be a cold-calling machine working for $15 an hour in an office that looks like it was a daycare facility, oh wait that is how they treat you. Big brother!

I worked at Unibind full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits package after 90 days. Friendly co-workers. Good potential earnings for the right department/position. Paid vacation with a significant amount of holidays off.

    Cons

Very disorganized management and sales cycle. Almost zero sales training in place, I was expected to essentially "figure it out". Very high turnover. No tracking system in place for commission. Toxic office politics that cause very low morale. Team leaders and associates compete for commission from the same pool of leads and territories, but it's the team leaders themselves that assign prospects to their teams. What naturally happens is cherry picking that leaves associates with the old, dead, or unqualified prospects - and almost no chance for commission as a result.

    Advice to Management

Retool the sales structure to allow new associates to succeed. Develop and institute a training program for new employees. Find a way to raise office morale and prevent the "Unibind Blues" that seems inevitably hit every employee, and permeates in every nook and cranny of the office.

    Pros

I wish I could list some pros! However, I am unable to think of any.

    Cons

The culture is very micro managed. Managers and leadership do not trust the staff and you feel like you are walking on egg shells. They have no policy or procedures in place.

    Advice to Management

Trust your staff, listen to their ideas and make it a team environment
