There used to be some decent staff below top management, but most are gone and those that are left are too afraid to do a really good job. They HAD a good thing going with the government which was their primary way to make good money. It appears that they messed that up though and that could really hurt the new ventures they wanted to spin up.
Pay is easily 10% or more under market, and benefits are beyond bad. They give a lot of lip service about caring about their employees, but reality doesn't backup those claims. Sources are reporting they have made a big gaffe with their government contracts which usually leads to being blackballed. Time will tell.

Great place to work. Fair compensation and benefits. Since I was working at a Army based, I also got all Federal Holidays off paid!
Personal growth opportunities were limited, since I was a contractor

The physical atmosphere is nice - very modern and clean. And you get a birthday cake on your birthday.
The company has very little structure/guidelines as to what it expects from employees. Many employees suddenly got terminated while I was there, creating an environment of great tension. Knowing that coworkers talk behind others' backs furthermore created an environment of mistrust. Lots of unhealthy competition. CEO/superiors resonate with corporate greed, very few family/moral values. No respect for outside obligations. No values.
Advice to Management
Talk to your employees on a one-to-one basis. Listen to them. Be nicer and respectful. Don't yell at them or get flustered/frazzled. Be clear on your expectations. Don't threaten them with termination. Understand that people have families/hobbies/dreams/worries. Your business is your business - don't expect others to put their blood, sweat, and tears into your business if you don't treat them right. You will not get loyalty or be successful.
One of the best companies I have have worked for. Recruiters were some of the best I've dealt with. They made me feel as if they really cared if the position was the best fit for me- not just another number to make their commissions grow. They responded EVERY question/concern I had, and if they didnt know the answer, they found it promptly. Called back every time I reached out/ sent email. I called them up when my contract was near an end and they found me a new position.
Some of the positions do not offer benefits.
