I have been working at Unified full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-2 founders of the company heavily invested in managing a strong company. They are all-in with Unified and put in their all day after day. -Fun, caring workplace with great HR that realizes how important morale is. Perks included occasional catered breakfasts and lunches, holiday events, a fun lounge area, Fond membership, and more. -Lot of room for growth for new employees. People are often promoted internally rather...

    Cons

-Morale took a hit with recent layoffs and management could have responded sooner with some quick fixes but were abundantly cautious. -Physical office space itself can be awkwardly cramped or too empty. The office space hasn't done a great job of fitting the needs of the employees as Unified ages.

I worked at Unified full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Most importantly, the people. Loved my co-workers, and made life-long friends at Unified. The company initiatives around wellness, employee development, team bonding, etc. There are always events to look forward to - happy hours, parties, outings, etc. There's always a variety of coffee, beer, snacks, etc in the office. A lot of autonomy around scheduling, work from home, personal appointments, etc. Convenient...

    Cons

The main con is that it's a fast-paced environment, where employee expectations are high. That wasn't a con for me - I enjoyed being challenged and trying new things. If those sound like cons to you, you probably wouldn't enjoy working at Unified.

I have been working at Unified full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Product: Technology is world class, and overall it's an innovative product, with compelling vision driving it forward. Year over year continued investment in product and unwavering focus on paid social, consistent direction, minimal pivots, agile and responsive to customer needs. Culture: Dedicated leadership, top notch talent - bright, dedicated, overall good people. Flexible work hours, commitment to diversity...

Start-up life can be a roller coaster and is not for the faint of heart. When the unexpected happens - market downturn, client departure, industry change, the effects are felt more strongly at young companies, and even with the best intentions, can be painful. Young workforce who has limited experienced with the ups and downs of business can amplify this problem because they think everything, good and bad, is unique to...

    Advice to Management

Pay key talent what they are worth instead of relying on their loyalty and dedication to their co-workers / clients to keep them.

"This is a media buying agency, not a tech company"

I worked at Unified full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      - The employees (mostly college-educated Millennials) are very nice, smart, and helpful. - There really is unlimited PTO and no one makes you feel bad about taking it. - Flexible work from home and office hours

      Cons

      - This is NOT a tech co. It's just an agency that does paid social buying campaigns for companies that want to outsource that function. - Most of the leadership team has very little leadership/management/business experience and it shows in the way they treat people and how they manage the business. - The office space looks like the spare room where you throw all the stuff you don't know what to do with.

"Great at times, horrible at others"

      StarStarStarStarStar
        Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

        I worked at Unified

        Pros

        - free snacks - UNLIMITED PTO that means you can take two weeks paid vacation as long as you have someone to cover and tell your manager in time - relaxed work environment, able to come in whenever as long as your managers are aware and you’re getting ur work done - super friendly people - good amount of women in vp senior leadership positions

        Cons

-suuuuuuuper low pay, barely enough for a small nyc apartment lifestyle - both CEOs and majority of the highest employees are white cis dudes which really doesn’t speak well to diversity - criticism is never given if ever, instead punishment and then explanation - rewards for good work are tiny and not worth anything such as free bagels on a Friday - lack of clients leaves workforce feeling useless - team leaders...

        Advice to Management

Promote more people, there is little room for growth once your at the second to highest level on the team because team leaders are friends with the founders. Pay more!!!!! Competitors pay nearly 20k more than you for many positions. If you want to keep your talent give them raises

I have been working at Unified full-time for more than a year

        Pros

        - Advertising team is truly best in class and social experts - Direct access to Executive Leadership and they have a good finger on the pulse for what's working/needs to be improved - The technology/product offering is alluring. Our customers really like it!

        Cons

        - Lots of organizational changes over the last quarter... but seems to be settling down now - Cross functional collaboration could be improved as teams are spread across floors and little contact if not within the same office

        Advice to Management

Continue to look for ways to keep employees motivated and engaged and continue to be transparent during town halls with regards to new business opportunities

          Pros

Great people, great location, and fun employee events.

I have been working at Unified full-time for less than a year

          Pros

You will work with a group of talented, curious and amazing people that will open your eyes to so many new and different interests. Motivating environment with managers who will listen and care about you. Great place to develop hard and soft skills.

          Cons

Less job security than a large stabilized company out of its start up years.

I worked at Unified full-time for more than a year

          Pros

          - Great coworkers - Location (right in midtown) - Latest and greatest macbook pros - Beer and snacks in the kitchen - Culture & flexibility

          Cons

          - Unified has lost a ton of business over the past few months and as a result, has had to reduce their workforce drastically and I don't see it getting any better anytime soon - Very low pay - The ad operations team is very young with low 20 somethings managing accounts, which causes a lot of frustration - Constant and unnecessary meetings/ standups - They love to add unnecessary work on top of the massive workload...
