    Pros

Corporate vision, global leverage, high percentage of great co-workers, flexibility, a ton of experience learning opportunities.

    Cons

Non stop change in and inconsistency in expectations and organization, mixed messages on performance, unbalanced workload, minimal work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Too many short term wins lead to longer term headaches. Design goals and projects with a vision to be sustainable to business and processes, not just one and done. Do a thorough assessment of talent and leadership, including a balancing of work.

I have been working at Unilever full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a great company to work for because they invest in their employees, are serious about their sustainability program (USLP), and have so many different opportunities that you'll always find a new challenge to tackle.

    Cons

They are very process oriented. Great because you minimize risks and failures. Tough because you are not organized to move fast and end up being a follower more often than leader.

    Advice to Management

Bring in more of the entrepreneurial spirit so you take risks on true innovations

I worked at Unilever full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pay. Very close to home.

    Cons

Benefits not the best, Union environment, management is out of place. Treat you with alot of disrespect. Training is not structured and old timers there are not willing to train you. They give you attitudes and everyone hates working there due to the forcing and understaffed place. This place has a very high turnover of employees! They lied about my pay, my schedules, paycheck was never correct ever since I got hired at the place.

    Advice to Management

Get training setup, manage and discipline old timers, make great use of unique talent.

I worked at Unilever full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can travel and be a part of some great experiences even from the production floor. As a supervisor, I got to go to Brazil and visit "World Class Plants". I had a great boss from the "Old Guard". He supported us, and always assumed positive intent. He didn't have some over bearing ego, and allowed us to succeed. He also let us make the best of our time as long as we did our job. I also had some outstanding people work for me.

    Cons

Bad decisions from upper management. They put a person in charge of a plant, who had no experience on a plant or shipping floor. They wouldn't invest any money into the machines, but they would drop $30million in renovating a 100+ year old building.... for the front office. This plant was located in one of the worst area's of Chicago (Little Village". Last but not least... 6-day work weeks.

    Advice to Management

    Doesn't matter... They won't listen.
