I worked at Unilever as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Culture that cares about people growth and development
    - Experienced managers that have lots of knowledge about their industry
    - Many iconic brands to work on
    - Strong culture of "giving back" to the community
    - Perks of a big company such as structured roles/titles, career advancement, and development programs

    Cons

    - Very competitive intern program with limited number of offers
    - Heart of the business lies in the Jersey office - limited opportunities elsewhere
    - Big company negatives, such as being a more "anonymous" place to work (due to sheer size) and beauracracy

    Pros

Unilever has great values, and was a great place to work prior to the Kraft Heinz bid. Unfortunately it went into slashing mode to raise stock value. Great pay and benefits.

    Cons

Corporate disconnect with sites. But overall a good company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Make onboarding easy, organize the corporation so it's easier to make a decision, and bring IT in house.

I have been working at Unilever full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-can move around and have really diverse experience/development without leaving the company
-flexible workplace: work from home, flexible hours
    -smart and fun people
-CEO has strong vision and sustainability focus that is felt throughout the company
-real business ownership/responsibility at entry level

    Cons

-size can cause the company to get in its own way re: talent management and upward mobility
    -lots of internal selling/alignment
-very corporate feel: lots of acronyms, processes, systems, etc

    Advice to Management

compensate and promote talent when deserved, and think about ROI to fix talent retention strategy and talent acquisition. these are fundamentally broken in NA office and creates lower morale/productivity for employees that want to stay, and pushes talent out the door
