I have been working at Unilever full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible working, reasonable pension. Good social responsibility mission based around improving lives of the poor and the environmental footprint of the companies products.

    Cons

Very large company, decisions often take a long time, not very agile or dynamic, quite process focussed in reality. Promotion between job levels difficult to achieve.

I worked at Unilever as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gives one the opportunity to experience a world class approach to the manufacturing industry. The safety standards are something to behold and admire.

    Cons

I have no con to pick out at the moment, my experience with them was something to behold. They are a world class organisation and there is nothing not to admire about them.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, the employee empowerment and bonding is top notch and that is why it is a hot bed for fresh ideas. They have done a good job thus far.

I have been working at Unilever full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Genuine commitment to employee satisfaction, well-being and mobility. Flexible working is granted subject to your manager's discretion but tends to be very good. A good environment to work in.

    Cons

Heavily cost-focussed in its operational targets. Directly vertical mobility seems limited.

    Advice to Management

More direct engagement with management beyond immediate line manager would help employees understand where there future could lie within Unilever

I worked at Unilever full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working at Unilever. You have a lot of opportunities to learn, and it's a very open company where you can be in contact with both the VP and the newest intern in the same meeting.
All the projects I worked in were incredibly interesting and people were open to hear everyones opinion and help them feel valued.
The benefits were also great, including a GP in the office, gym, a very cheap cafeteria, good retirement and health insurance

    Cons

It's really hard to grow inside UL, both getting promotions and pay raises is really hard and it goes agains motivation sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Help employees get better career plans and help them stay motivated

I worked at Unilever as an intern

    Pros

Very focused team, not too large in terms of size (approx. 20 people). The on-boarding process was very well structured and there was some time given for self-proposed projects on the side.

    Cons

The team was very global; spread out across several countries. This made working on some tasks quite difficult at times.
